As most of you know Instagram is a fun and easy way to share your photos with your family, friends and others and has been wildly popular on the IOS based devices. On April 3rd Instagram made its way onto Android devices, which became an instant hit as many Android users had been eagerly waiting for it. Instagram allows you to snap a picture, choose a filter to personalize the way your photo looks and then post it to instagram or other social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr. Instagram was inspired by the love of taking pictures and wanting to improve the look of the pictures from the normal drab photos taken with most mobile phones. Over the past little bit Instagram has seen a lot of media attention after Facebook bought and aquired it for a billion dollars.

At this piont like a ton of other apps BlackBerry users have not seen any love from the Instagram application as it is still not available for the BlackBerry phones. After going to their website and taking a look at the Press page, to the question “What platforms are next?” the answer is quite vague stating that “We have nothign to announce at this time, but we are always actively considering ways to expand Instagram’s utility to everyone in the world.”.

If this statement is true then it would only make sense that at some point in the near future, we can expect the BlackBerry version of Instagram to roll out. CrackBerry the popular BlackBerry website conducted a poll of over 10000 BlackBerry users on whether or not they wanted Instagram. Of the more that 10,000 votes a whopping 78.73% wanted the application while only 3.06% said they did not want the instagram app for BlackBerry.

With poll results like that all I can say is that Instagram would be very foolish should they decide to leave the BlackBerry platform behind.
